At the Church of Christ in Chandler, Feb. 5 will be the Sunday we begin a new adult Bible study based on The Story. We are encouraging the entire church to become involved in the study. The material follows God’s story from Genesis to Revelation. It will show the common thread of God’s love for humanity and the effort that He has continually made to bring us back into full relationship with Him. The study utilizes a chronological Bible, DVD lesson, and a participant’s guide. We will be involved in the study for 31 weeks. Jim Welch will lead the adult class and will also deliver sermons that reinforce certain lessons. It will be a 31-week study.

Each week we will read the chapter assigned, watch the DVD, and then discuss what the lessons teach us about God’s story of redeeming love. We invite anyone who desires to get the complete picture of how God’s insistent story of redemption has been and is being carried out to come and share this time with us. On Tuesday of each week, we have the opportunity to enjoy a meal together along with Christian fellowship. Each meal is different and the conversation is always interesting. We try to encourage each other in our walk with the Lord. Anyone in the community who would like to share this time with us is welcome. We meet at 12:00 at the church building. Since we are in the middle of winter, a warm bowl of soup is just what the doctor ordered.

This last Thursday, a group of our ladies gathered to make blankets which are then given to children in traumatic situations. The blankets are distributed by the Linus Blanket group of East Texas. These ladies have been doing this for over three years now, and they have made over 3,200 blankets to be used by this ministry. Any ladies in the community who have an interest in making blankets using various methods are invited to attend. This is a great opportunity to meet with other ladies of like interest and make something that brings comfort to a child who is going through a difficult time. There is loving fellowship and good food as well. The Linus Blanket Group meets at 1 p.m. the last Thursday of each month at our building. This month the date is Feb. 23.

In February we will host the Chandler-Brownsboro Ministerial Alliance luncheon. This will be time for these leaders of our churches to come together for a good meal and have the opportunity to discuss how we can better server Christ in our communities together.

We would be honored for you to share study and worship time with us. We meet at 9:30 a.m. and 10:30 a.m. on Sunday and 5 p.m. on Wednesday.
