The University Interscholastic League has released its 2012-13 and 2013-14 tentative football and basketball district assignments, and Brownsboro will be in District 15-3A along with Athens, Canton, Mabank, Mineola and Van.

Chandler City Councilman Gene Giger was named the Citizen of the Year Thursday night at the Chandler/Brownsboro Area Chamber of Commerce banquet and silent auction at First Assembly of God church.

Sonic of Chandler was named the Business of the Year while Brownsboro High School teacher Lynda Porsch was named the Teacher of the Year.

Firefighter making comeback after wreck

One of the heroes that serve the Brownsboro area as a member of the Brownsboro Volunteer Fire Department returned to limited action last week after a November wreck that left him with a broken back, leg and neck.

Yet, for all the difficult circumstances, Moran is embracing the challenges.
