The Brownsboro 7thgrade A-team Bears basketball team withstood a late rally by the Bullard Panthers on Jan. 26 to remain undefeated in district play, and for the year, by securing a 35-28 win.

The Bears started out strong with a pressing defense, which allowed them to build an 11-point halftime lead.

Cub Scouts annual Pinewood Derby results

Cub Scouts Pack 342 recently held its annual Pinewood Derby at First United Methodist Church in Chandler.

Nicholas Selman earned the title of Grand Champion, Pole Position winner and first place in the Bears division.

In the Tigers division, Elias Gregg claimed first place, Izayah Watson second and Ryan Magrill third.

Brownsboro girls take 2nd in Van powerlifting meet

The Brownsboro Boys and Girls Powerlifting teams competed in Van on Jan. 28.

Top competitors in the girls division were Krystilyn Woods, Leandra Bevins, Kylie Bridges, Bailey Connor and Ashley Ramirez.

Woods received the outstanding lifter of the meet award. She finished first place in squat, first place in bench and first place overall in her weight division.

Longhorns beat Titans to remain unbeaten

With three weeks to go before the end-of-season tournament, teams are fine tuning in Little Dribblers action.

The Warhawks and Longhorns improved to 4-0 with wins Saturday as they get ready for their big showdown on Feb. 11.

With a balanced offensive attack the Longhorns defeated the Titans 31-17 Saturday while the Warhawks topped the Heat 34-16.
