Brownsboro First UMC It seems I failed to give an address last week for the Open House. The parsonage is located at 11062 Browning St., just off Saylors. It's the first house on left, a reddish colored brick. We would love to share our beautiful parsonage with all our church family and friends, Sunday, December 3 from 2-4, so come by and enjoy some food and drink with us. The next few weeks will be very busy for all of us, preparing for Christmas. Our Hanging of the Greens is Dec. 3 at 6:00 p.m.; children's program with a party afterwards December 10 at 6 p.m. Our Ladies Group has meetings every Tuesday at 9:30 in the fellowship hall and The Helping Hands meet the 3rd Wednesday of each month. Congratulations, Billy Ben and Emogene on your new great-grandbaby. Also a big congratulations to our football team for their continued victories. Train a child in the way he should go and when he gets old he will not depart from it. Prov. 22:6. Our two sons are now grown with families of their own, but I claimed that scripture many times in their life. There were times I wondered if God would honor that scripture with all the things our boys got into, but He did. Our youngest now is training our granddaughter in the first church we pastored, our oldest works offshore and is trying to find a place to serve near their new home. As I grow older I wonder how many times my mom claimed that scripture and how many sleepless nights she had for us. So, if you have a child at home, remember to "train him/her up in the way they should go." Claim the scripture and remember they learn from example. God bless you all this wonderful time of the year. Remember, if you have taken a name for a resident gift from Chandler Nursing Center, please get the gift to Greta. If you have not taken a name but meant to, she still has residents in need of adoption. This assures each resident of a gift under the tree for their party. |
