A week to forget for the Bearettes

After winning two in a row the Bearettes found themselves on the opposite side of the score board last week.
Playing on consecutive days due to the holiday the Bearettes lost to Rains and Ennis.
At home on Monday against Rains the Bearettes ended the first period of play tied before trailing 24- 19 at the half.
Brownsboro was unable to rally in the second half against Rains falling by the score of 44-35. Monica Redfearn led the girls in scoring with 11 points. Redfearn hit three 3-pointers in the game.
After the loss at home the Bearettes traveled to Ennis on Tuesday. Ennis jumped out to a 16-11 lead after the first period and held a slim lead at the half.
Brownsboro captured the lead 37-33 after three periods of play but was unable to hold it in the fourth period. Ennis outscored Brownsboro 18-7 in the final period of play to escape with the win.
Two Bearettes scored in double figures against Ennis. Chelsea Chimney led Brownsboro in scoring with 15 points while Bianca Mosley added 12 points. Monica Redfearn nailed a three.
With the back to back losses the Bearettes record on the season drops to 2-3.
Brownsboro will take part in the Winnsboro Tournament this weekend. Their first game will be Thursday at 10:20am in the Winnsboro High School gym. Win or lose the Bearettes will play again at 3:40pm on Thursday.
Other teams in the Winnsboro tournament include Clarksville, North Lamar, John Tyler, Liberty Eylau, Kilgore, Texas High, Winnsboro, Rains, Cooper, Mount Vernon, Mesquite Poteet, Allen and Longview.
The Bearettes will return to Brownsboro next Thursday to compete in the Great East Texas Shoot Out after playing in Rains on Tuesday.
