Labor of Love provides home repair assistance

The Labor of Love is a faithbased volunteer organization that provides home repairs at no charge for the handicapped, indigent, elderly, single mothers, and grandmothers raising children across Henderson County.

Examples of repairs include building wheelchair ramps, repair of broken front steps, rotted rear porches, holes in floors, replacing windows, fixing leaking roofs, and bathrooms, etc.

In addition, during spring and fall school breaks, youth groups, church groups, boy scouts, basketball teams, etc., paint homes. We supply all the materials for a win-win situation. It's an excellent opportunity for the youth to participate in a meaningful community project. You can see the Labor of Love's mission is to serve those in need.

The Labor of Love is sponsored by the First Presbyterian, First Baptist, First Methodist churches of Athens and is funded by the Murchison and Cain foundations and the United Way of Henderson County. Therefore, we serve people from Chandler to Trinidad.
