Varsity Bears eye Tournament title

Heading into the Great East Texas Shootout this Thursday the Brownsboro Bears have every reason to believe they can bring home the championship title.

The Bears are undefeated so far this season with a record of 3-0 after defeating Troup 54-40 last Tuesday night in Troup.

Brownsboro scored in double digits in every period as the win was never in doubt.

Leading the Bears in scoring was Colin Thompson with 13 points. Keaton Parsell (12) and Andrew Adair (11) each also scored in double figures for the Bears.

Thompson nailed two first period three's for Brownsboro as the Bears hit five three pointers on the night. Other Bears making a three were Adair, Andrew Pollard and Ryan Smith.

Brownsboro will open the shootout with a Noon tipoff against Gladewater on Thursday. Should the Bears win they will play again at 7:30 Thursday night. If the Bears lose to Gladewater they will play in the Junior High gym on Friday at 10:30am.
