JV Bears win three

Just like the Varsity Bears the JV Bears continue to play well to start the 2006-07 season.

Last Tuesday night the JV Bears dominated Troup 39-23 holding the Tigers to 8 points or less in every period.

Nine players scored for the Bears while Trent Richards and Brandon Irby led the way in scoring with 8 points each. Richards nailed 2 three pointers in the win.

After the win in Troup the Bears played in the Kemp Tournament on Saturday. Due to the Varsity Football playoffs the Bears forfeited their game Friday night before winning both on Saturday.

On Saturday the Bears rolled past Ferris 72-47 as Keith Johnson led the Bears in scoring with 14 points. Irby also scored in double figures with 11 points. Jeremy Monroe nailed two three pointers and James Thomas also hit one from beyond the arc.

In their final game of the tournament the Bears defeated Quinlan Ford 67-58. Johnson led the Bears in scoring once again this time with 16 points. Tony Cooper (12) and Charlie Stringer (10) also scored in double figures for Brownsboro. Cooper, Monroe and Richards each hit a three in the win.
