Freshman Bearettes

In a very impressive display the Freshman Bearettes defeated Bullard 27-8 last Tuesday night in Brownsboro.

The Bearettes did not score in double digits in any period but held the Lady Panthers to 4 points or less in every period for the win. Megan Hain led the Bearettes in scoring with six points.

Playing in the Mt. Vernon tournament over the weekend the Bearettes lost the opener 52-33 before winning the second game of the tournament 50-30 over Mt. Pleasant.

In what would be their final game of the tournament the Bearettes lost 34-28 to Texas High.

Montoya Hightower scored 18 points against Winnsboro, the highest single game point total by any Bearette during the tournament.

JV Bearettes

Playing in four games last week the JV Bearettes split the week, winning two games while losing two.

Brownsboro opened with a win against Henderson last Tuesday 36-25. Sabrina Bradley led the girls in scoring with 16 points.

Bradley also led the Bearettes in each of the tournament games played in Mt. Vernon. Bradley scored 53 points in the three tournament games played.

The Bearettes lost the tournament opener 40-37 to Mt.Vernon before winning the second game 39-24 against Mt. Pleasant.

In their final game of the tournament the Bearettes lost a close game to Winnsboro 47-43. LaCandace Bell (2) and Stefani Vause each had a three pointer during the tournament.
