Sub-Varsity Basketball
      Freshman Bearettes Through 10 games of the 2006-07 basketball season the Freshman Bearettes have a record of 6-4 after three games last week. Last Tuesday the Bearettes traveled to Emory and were defeated 34-19 by Rains. Megan Hain led Brownsboro in scoring with 7 points.

All District Football team
      With the conclusion of the 2006 District 14-3A football season the coaches have released the All-District Football Team. Six Bears made the superlative list including head coach John Settle bringing home the Coach of the year award. Overall 25 Bears made the list.

District 14-3A Volleyball awards
      The 2006 District 14-3A all district volleyball selections were recently made and eight Bearettes earned a spot on the team. Malleri McGee took home the award for Outstanding Hitter and Sara Scarborough brought home the award for Outstanding Blocker.

      During the Bears game at Texas Stadium last Friday night Brownsboro’s Dwayne Garner helped run the chains during the game. Garner has been on the Brownsboro sideline for over 30 years.

Nice performace, Varsity Bears claim fourth at Shootout
      Overcoming a set back to Malakoff last Tuesday the Bears raised a few eyebrows with their performance in the Great East Texas Shootout. In Brownsboro last Tuesday the Bears fell to Malakoff 69- 64. Andrew Adair led the Bears in scoring with 16 points. Adair and 2 three pointers.

Bearettes fall fast in annual tourney
      Trying to rebuild after last years State Finalist basketball team the Bearettes found the rebuilding process can be rather unpleasant as they lost three of four games played last week. Opening the week on the road the Bearettes fell to Rains by the score of 37-33.

JV Bears win Grace Tournament title
      In a tune up for the Grace Community Tournament the JV Bears defeated Malakoff 43-38 last Tuesday night in Brownsboro. Broox Nichelson led the Bears in scoring with 9 points as eight different players scored on the night. Daniel Myer nailed the Bears only three point shot in the win.

Bears mount a 14-13 first half lead, before falling 35-14 to Celina
      Entering last Friday night’s game there were only 12 class 3A teams still playing football. There were eight teams alive in Division Two and just four teams alive in Division One action. History was in the making as the Brownsboro Bears matched up with the Bobcats from Celina.
