Lake Palestine U.M.C. Greetings from the Church on the Lake. A little gloomy on the outside Sunday morning, but the inside was bright and cheerful with beautiful decorations throughout the church, and we enjoyed some of our favorite Christmas songs. Saturday our United Methodist Men delivered their annual bags of fruit and all of us who were recipients send them our thanks and bless them for remembering us. Our usual classes and meetings will be this week mixed in with our planned Christmas activities with the hayride and caroling Sunday night. That is, if the weather cooperates. If not, we will stay at the church and sing the carols there and enjoy the refreshments that were for after the hayride. Monday is our Tour of Tyler Lights, leaving at 4:30 p.m. and we’ll eat at Potpourri House in Tyler and start the tour at 6:00 p.m., and Wednes- day night at 6:00 our youth go to see the lights. Saturday is the Church Christmas Party at 7:00 p.m. Sunday, December 17 is the Southern Angels Bench Bake Sale. Come prepared to find some Christmas goodies. This will be our last sale for a while. We pray for our world leaders and for their safety, and that of our young men and women serving in the armed forces. Congratulations and best wishes go out to all who are having anniversaries and birthdays this week, and our love and prayers go out to all who are ill, and to the bereaved. God bless all of you. |
