Brother Eric and Angela are in Hawaii enjoying the pastor appreciation gift from the church. In his absence, we were pleased to have Charles Dodson, Executive Director of Breckenridge Village, preach for us. Dr. Dodson was former pastor of the Woods Baptist Church in Tyler, and has served at Breckenridge Village of Tyler for approximately three years.

We appreciate Bro. Charles, his ministry and friendship with WLBC. Our very own, and faithful, Billy McLean filled the pulpit on Wednesday, December 20.

Sunday night, we were delighted with an incredible performance of “A Christmas Prayer” presented by the 100 voice choir and drama team from Friendly Baptist Church of Tyler.

It was under the direction of Floyd Williford. The church was full to capacity and everyone was stirred at the moving message and music.

The Lottie Moon Offering for The International Mission Board has a national goal of $150 million. The Church Goal is $4,000. There are more than 350 people and groups in West Africa without access to the Gospel. Southern Baptist Missionaries are working to change that with your prayer and by the generosity of people giving to the Lottie Moon Christmas Offering.

Will you consider making a donation so that West Africa’s lost may know the name of Jesus Christ? Give generously this holiday season.

The Singin’ Saintz Choir enjoyed their Christmas lunch on December 12 in the fellowship

Hall. They enjoyed a serve yourself Taco Soup and dessert, and, as usual, had a fabulous time. There were over 50 in attendance. They will resume their rehearsals on January 9.

On December 31, the Children’s Choir, under the direction of Jeff and Martha Mason, will present the Christmas Story through singing, narration, and simple drama. We will also be observing the Lord’s Supper during this service, it will be a very meaningful time.

The church is beautifully decorated with poinsettias given in memory or honor of someone. This Sunday, after the 10 a.m. Christmas Eve Service, the donors of the poinsettias can take them home to enjoy.

Please remember that the church office will close at noon this Friday, December 22, and will reopen on Wednesday, December 27. There will be one service on Sunday, December 24 at 10 a.m.
