St. Boniface Catholic Church The third Sunday of Advent can be referred to as “Rejoicing Sunday’! Why? Because Jesus Christ lives in each of us! Fr. James spoke of John the Baptist as a persuasive preacher. According to the Holy Gospel, the crowd asks John, “What should we do?” To paraphrase his answer, we should, 1) share what we have, and 2) be honest. The same holds true today. Share not only from your abundance, but also of yourself, both physically and spiritually. Honesty is more than simply telling the truth. We must always respect the dignity of others. Accept your fellowman, faults and all. Not only is Christ living among us, he lives in us. The person living within our neighbor is Jesus Christ. Rejoice!! We all have Christ living in us. The Youth of our parish did an outstanding job Sunday morning at Mass. Thank you for your hard work and dedication. We at St. Boniface support your efforts. A special Thanks to the leadership of the Youth. May God bless each of you for all you do. Two of our Young Adults will receive the Rite of Christian Initiation on Saturday, Dec. 23. Please keep Whitlee Kid and Tayler Kid in your prayers. Welcome to our many visitors. With Christmas just around the corner there are some new and a few familiar faces among us. Those who are visiting families and friends, we welcome you back. To those celebrating the Holy Eucharist with us for the first time, Welcome! Come back soon and often. And please join us for coffee after Mass and get to know us. We’d love to have you! There is still an urgent need to fill the Holiday Food Baskets. Evelyn Schroeder reports a shortfall in donations. Please pray and reflect on this. Your generosity could make the difference to a needy family. Contact Evelyn or Fr. James to make your contribution. It is not too late! Several ladies of the Parish worked day and night to make fresh tamales for Christmas. Reports have it that many ‘new’ tamale makers did a great job under the leadership of the ‘pros.’! The Liturgy schedule for Christmas will begin with the traditional singing of carols at 11pm December 24. Midnight Mass will follow. Christmas morning Mass will be at 9:30am. Note to the young people of St. Boniface: there will be No CCD on Sunday, Dec. 24th. Classes will resume the following Sunday. Congratulations and best wishes to all who celebrate birthdays and anniversaries, most especially our dear Father James. Let us continue to pray for all those who are ill and suffering. Remember too, the faithful departed; may they rest in peace. Remember those who are far from home this Christmas, serving in the armed forces. May the Lord bless them and keep them until they return home, safely, to their families. This Christmas may you experience the blessings of our Lord. With best wishes for happiness in the coming year. |
