A PROUD COMMUNITY

Wanda Nichols Photo
It was an exciting day for the folks at Parkside Shores Saturday when everyone gathered to celebrate Christmas with a parade through the community. Leading the parade was Westside Volunteer Fire Department followed by Henderson County Commissioner Pct. 4, Jerry West. Santa was on hand to greet the kids and hear their Christmas wishes and have lunch. Every child in attendance received a gift and candy. A good time was had by all who hung around to enjoy some good old country and gospel music performed by Mack Smith & his band; Marvin Jones, who organized the entertainment; Chuck Boone, Steve Giles, and Bob & Carol Proudfit. Many thanks to those who contributed to the Parkside Shores road fund. Pictured are officers of the Parkside Shores Home Owners Association and organizers of the event (L-R) back Tammy Starnes, secretary; Gwen Gann, vice president; Debbie Lemley, president; Doris Stephens, board of director; front helper John Boy Thedford, and Nancy James, board of director in charge of fundraisers.
