John E. Smith

Services for Mr. John E. Smith, 78, of Brownsboro, Texas were held Monday, December 18, 2006 at 10:00 a.m. at Chandler Memorial Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Tommy Weems officiating. Burial followed at 3:30 p.m. at Rose Lawn Cemetery in Denton, Texas, under the direction of Chandler Memorial Funeral Home.

Mr. Smith died December 15, 2006 in Tyler, Texas. He was born March 20, 1928 in Mena, Arkansas.

He had lived in the Brownsboro area for two years, formerly of Krum, Texas. He served in the U.S. Air Force and National Guard. Mr. Smith was a Deacon at Rock Hill Baptist Church and was a collator for Moore Business Forms.

Survivors include his wife, Gladys Fay Smith, Brownsboro; son, John E. Smith and wife Joyce of Frankston, Texas; daughters, Ann and husband Gene Kidd of Brownsboro and Lynn and husband Brent Smith; 11 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren.

Honorary pallbearers were Ben Bearden, Rod Nugent, Frank Hood, Dan Parker, Gene Bedrick, Jim Caudle, Albert Caudle, Jackie Tucker.
