Three Bears make Class 3A all-state football team

      The Class 3A all-state high school football team, released Wednesday, was voted on by The Associated Press Sports Editors based on regular-season performance. Players are listed in alphabetical order at each position.

All-Henderson County football team announced
      For the second consecutive year and sixth time in the last 25 years a Brownsboro Bear has brought home the award of Henderson County’s Most Valuable football player. Last year it was Senior Jason Johnson bringing home the award; this season the award goes to Junior Ryan Epperson.

2006 was a year to remember for Brownsboro High School athletics
      As the year turned from 2005 to 2006 the Varsity Bearette basketball team was in the midst of history. Little did anyone know how the new year would play out. To conclude 2005 the Bearettes won their second straight TVCC Tournament Championship and seemed poised to control District 15- 3A play.

Celina’s streak is over!
      WACO, TEXAS (AP) - Gio Magallon kicked a 31-yard field goal with six seconds left to give Liberty Hill a 22-19 win over Celina in the Class 3A Division II state championship on Saturday. The Panthers (13-2) won a state title in their first championship game appearance.

Bears fall to Edgewood
      After falling behind 20-7 to end the first period, the Bears’ uphill comeback climb ended five points short. Edgewood edged the Bears 58-23 in last Tuesday night’s action. Brownsboro rallied back in the second period holding Edgewood to just 8 points while scoring 12 offensively.
