Lake Palestine U.M.C. Greetings from the Church on the Lake. We had a good turnout Sunday morning in spite of the rainy weather and with the combined services, a near full house with songs from the Praise Team before the service began. Our altar rail was beautifully surrounded by Poinsettias brought im memory of and in honor of family and friends. Sunday night there were two candlelight services, one at 4:00 p.m. and one at 7:00 p.m. This will be a quiet week with all the classes and meetings cancelled until January, but on December 31 there will be an Open House at the parsonage at 21455 Waterfront Drive from 3:00 to 6:00 p.m. On Tuesday, January 2 the United Methodist Women meet at 6:30 p.m. We have many members, family and friends travelling for the holidays and pray for their safety and for all who are travelling. We pray for peace and for our World Leaders and for their safety and that of our young men and women serving in the armed services. Congratulations and best wishes go out to all who are having anniversaries and birthdays this week, and our love and prayers go out to all who are ill, and to the bereaved. God bless all of you. Happy New Year to All of You from All of Us at LPUMC, and May God Grant You All a Healthy and Prosperous Year Ahead. |
