Its not too late to sign-up for the 4th Annual Brownsboro Bear Football camp to be held June 5-8.

The Camp will begin on Tuesday, June 5 and continue through Friday, June 8. The camp begins at 9:00am and concludes at 12:30pm each day. On Friday the campers will have their picture taken to appear in The Statesman.

Location for the camp will be at the Track Field once again. New this year the coaches will separate the camp into two groups to ensure proper training and teaching.

Kids entering 2nd-8th are encouraged to attend the camp. Group one will con- sist of kids 2nd-5th grade while group two will be 6th- 8th.

Included in the $35 fee for the camp this year will be a camp t-shirt, football, certificate of participation, individual awards and new this year, a lunch cooler.

Coach Settle stated that the last three camps have had more than 150 kids in attendance. There will be walk-up registration but it is recommended to register early by filling out the attached form.

Kids need to wear tennis shoes or football shoes to the camp, socks and a t-shirt.

Prizes will be awarded to winners of individual and team competitions.

Football fundamentals taught at the camp will include stance, running, blocking and tackling techniques. Passing, ball handling, receiving, punting, kicking, defensive skills, movement and agility drills will also be taught.

The learning does not stop with football information as the kids attending the camp will also learn lessons in leadership, citizenship, the importance of attitude, discipline, work ethic, pride and team concept. These are the qualities of a champion.
