Tribute to Former BHS Teacher

INSPIRATIONAL BAND DIRECTOR -- Roger Winslow was the band director at Brownsboro High School from 1954 through 1960. During this six year time period he inspired his band students to work hard and achieve much. Many of Mr. Winslow's students at Brownsboro, DeKalb, and Hurst followed his lead and also became band directors, including his own three sons. Roger and wife Lee had retired to Mineola and had recently celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary. Sadly, Mr. Winslow passed away December 17, 2006. Pictured: Phillip Hatton (L) and Frances Cotton (C), former Brownsboro Band members, present a dedication plaque and a contribution check in memory of Mr. Winslow. Accepting these memorials is current Brownsboro Band Director Jeff Russell. Anyone wishing to make a donation in Mr. Winslows's memory may send it to the Brownsboro Band, P.O. Box 465, Brownsboro, TX 75756. The money will be used to build a trophy case for the band room.
