Arlin D. Brown

Services for Arlin D. Brown, 89, of Athens were held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, January 6, 2007 at the Eubank Chapel-Canton, with Dr. Mark Moore and Rev. Mike Gibbs officiating.

Burial was in Haven of Memories Memorial Park- Canton, under direction of Eubank Funeral Home.

Mr. Brown was born August 18, 1917 in Quitman, Texas to J.W. Arthur and Louella Snodgrass Brown. He passed away January 3, 2007 in Athens.

He was a member of the Central Baptist Church in Athens and a former member of Lakeside Baptist Church in Canton where he served as deacon. He enjoyed gardening, his church and going to gospel singings. He was married 57 years before his wife, Mattie Clorene Brown, passed away. He served in the U.S. Army during WWII. He worked as a custodian at the Pleasant Wood Baptist Church.

Survivors include his daughter, Penny Reyes and husband Fernando of Athens, Texas; sister, Lena McCraig of Dallas, Texas; half-sister, Doris Romine; 3 grandchildren, Timothy Miles, Billy Miles and David Miles; 4 great-grandchildren, Bethany, Hailey, Sean and Alexandria Miles.
