John Settle a finalist for Coach of the Year

As part of TexasHS Football.com's 2006 Team Texas Awards, the Gordon Wood Award is an award that is for the Coach of The Year. The 06 Team Texas Awards will be announced in early January.

Brownsboro Bears head coach John Settle has been nominated as a finalist for the annual award after leading the Bears to the Class 3A Divsion 2 Quarterfinals. Settle was named Henderson Counties Coach of the Year.

The 2005 Gordon Wood Award winners were as followes: Class 5A - Gerald Brence, Plano; Class 4AChad Morris, Stephenville; Class 3A- Lee Penland,Hutto; Class 2A - Danny Rogers, Blanco; Class 1A- Randy McDougald, Iola.
