Faith Baptist Chandler Revival services were well attended this week. Wade and Jennifer Burleigh from First Century Ministries conducted the services. They used wood carving, pottery, and drama in presenting the gospel message. Thanks to the fellowship committee for serving meals prior to the revival. The youth will host a "baked potato dinner" after the morning worship service on January 21. Take-out will also be available. Proceeds will go to the youth camp expenses. Everyone is encouraged to come out and support our youth. Joley Bray of Chandler celebrated her 18th birthday this week with her family and friends at their house last Thursday. Joley is the daughter of Andy and Gina Tucker. Her parents surprised her with tickets to see the great George Strait in concert in Bossier City, LA this past Friday night. Joley attended the concert with her mom, and they reported having a great time. Others celebrating birthdays this week were Cindy White, Cindy Hines, Martie Belle Beard, and Paul Peavy. Roy and Dorothy Stewart celebrated a wedding anniversary last week. Eighteen people enjoyed lunch at the Shed in Edom on Friday, January 12. Attending were Ed and Tincy Robinson, Connie and Stephen Giles, Jack and Maxine Barnes, Chris Weeks and her guest Jo Ann Scott, Paul and Dorothy McMillan, Paul and Betty Peavy, Jerry and Joyce Houston, John and Ginny Dabbs, and Mary and Joe Waddill. During the Christmas season, Maxine Barnes and a high school friend attended a beautiful performance of the entire Handel's Messiah at Abilene Christian College. The performance was presented by 37 musicians who collectively had performed in 1,841 Messiah performances in 50 of the United States and 47 foreign countries. It was conducted by Maxine's high school choir director, Charles Nelson. The Wednesday night meals will resume January 24 from 5:00 - 6:00 p.m. |
