Wild weekend weather

Wanda Nichols Photo
WET, WINTERY BLAST -- All hands were on deck, including Brownsboro Mayor Ronny Harris, throughout the weekend as heavy rain followed by plummeting temperatures wreaked havoc throughout the area. During Saturday evening's downpours, volunteer firefighters worked well into the night responding to calls of high rising water over low-lying county roads, prompting calls to County Commissioners for assistance. Brownsboro Water Superintendent J.D. Jones reports flooding caused a water main break Saturday night at the old city park. City employees worked throughout the night to repair the break. On Monday top-heavy trees weighed down by iced limbs, uprooted and fell over, including this one on Castleberry Street. Pictured removing the tree from the roadway are Brownsboro Water Superintendent J.D. Jones (forefront), Mayor Harris (tan jacket), and Brownsboro City employees Jimmy Mitchell and Thomas Geddy.
