Chandler 4-H News
by Stephen Roddam

Chandler 4-H met January 9 at the Chandler Community Center with 12 members and 9 adults present.

We will be announcing soon our raffle of either a shotgun or rifle; details to be decided at our next meeting.

A number of our members are getting ready for livestock shows in Fort Worth, San Antonio, and Houston, along with our own Henderson County Livestock Show set for the last week of March.

CEA Hilary Grider was with us to introduce a new training module on citizenship. She covered how we learn by example: the six pillars of character (trustworthiness, respect, responsibility, fairness, caring, and citizenship); and how to develop a Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Point (HACCP). She is relating this material to the livestock projects with which many of us are involved and will return with Part II next month.

Our next meeting will be at our usual location, Tuesday, February 13, at 7 pm.
