ECT begins its 11th season

Edom Civic Theatre begins its eleventh season of "Conflicts, Couples and Critics" with the comedy "Five Tellers Dancing in the Rain," written by Mark Davis and directed by Lois Arneson of Edom. The twoact play now in rehearsal is scheduled for Friday and Saturday, February 23 and 24 at 7 p.m. at the Edom Community Center.

The plot revolves around five bank tellers and is set in the break room of a small bank in northern Mississippi. The action takes place on six consecutive week-day mornings. This engaging comedy eavesdrops on the lives of Jenny, Delores, Twyla, Betina and Lorene, women who have for too long defined themselves in terms of their relationships with men. With southern "sass," tears and charm, the five speak their minds and open their hearts to one another as they learn that there are many kinds of love and that strength and self-respect can only come from within.

The cast includes Marty Wetherhold of Canton as Delores; Linda Avers of Edom as Lorene; Lahri Gentry of Canton as Jennifer; Mary Ann Garrett of Chandler as Betina; Linda Parker of Chandler as Twyla; and Sherry Gasper of Edom as the charwoman.

Reservations are required and can be obtained by calling house manager Polly Martin of Chandler at 903- 852-6803.
