Sub-Varsity Basketball

JV Bearettes

LeCandace Bell scored 16 points as the JV Bearettes easily defeated Chapel Hill 44-15 last Tuesday in Brownsboro.

The Bearettes outscored the Lady Bulldogs 12-5 in the opening period before taking a halftime lead of 28-5.

Sabrina Bradley also scored in double figures with 10 points.

Last Friday the Bearettes defeated Canton 44-35 in Canton. Stats were unavailable as of press time Tuesday.

Freshman Bearettes

After a slow first period the Freshman Bearettes came out firing in the second period outscoring the visiting Chapel Hill Lady Bulldogs 18-0.

With the strong second period the Bearettes took a 20-4 lead into halftime before defeating Chapel Hill 37-12.

Three Bearettes tied for the team lead in scoring with nine points.

Stats from Friday's game at Canton were not kept.

JV Bears

The Brownsboro Junior Varsity Basketball team closed non-district play last Tuesday night with a win over Mabank 62-58 before opening District 14-3A play with a blowout win over Canton.

In Mabank the Bears used a big second and fourth period to overcome the Panthers. Broox Nichelson led the Bears in scoring with 21 points.

Following their road win in Mabank the Bears stayed on the road to open district play against Canton.

Brownsboro was ready to play as the Bears outscored the Eagles 22-5 in the first period of play before taking a 30-16 halftime lead.

In the third period the Bears outscored the Eagles 23-10 basically putting the game away as Canton trailed by 27 heading into the fourth period.

Charlie Stringer led the Bears in scoring with 18 points. Keith Johnson (17) and Jeremy Monroe (15) also scored in double figures.
