City of Poynor to hold appreciation music benefit
Event to be sponsored by Frankston Healthcare Center & The Country Gents

On Friday, December 29, 2006, the city of Poynor sustained major storm damage as tornadoes blew their way through parts of East Texas. While residents and helpers were doing the initial clean-up, the Poynor Community Center was used to feed the workers, with the help of many volunteers.

For more than four years the City of Poynor has made the Community Center available every first Thursday of the month for The Country Gents and guests to play "old time" country music for the listening and dancing pleasure of East Texas residents. Frankston Healthcare Center has served food at most of these events. Donations for the food are used to benefit the residents of the healthcare center, purchasing such things as Christmas gifts and a popcorn machine.

In appreciation for the use of the civic center, Frankston Healthcare Center and The Country Gents have decided to use the donations from the evening on Thursday, February 1, to benefit the city of Poynor, as needs are determined by the city council. The presby ence and contributions of all who come to help this event be a success will be greatly appreciated, as there are many needs to fill.

Frankston Healthcare Center will cook hamburgers, which will be served with all the trimmings and side dishes, beginning at 6:00 PM. Anyone who wishes may bring a desert.

Music from 6:30 to 9:30 P.M. featuring The Country Gents. Open mic. If you have questions you may call 903-876-5449 or e-mail margaret@ruitexas .com.
