Emma Lee George

Services for Emma Lee George, 71, Murchison, were held at 3 p.m. Saturday at Memorial Funeral Home chapel, Tyler, with the Rev. Larry Shackelford officiating.

Burial was in Tyler Memorial Park.

Mrs. George died January 18, 2007, in Tyler. She was born December 22, 1935 in Denton County to the late Thomas and Emma Lee Dick.

She was a homemaker and member of First Baptist Church, Edom. She lived in Lewisville prior to moving to Murchison in 1972.

Mrs. George was preceded in death by one brother.

Survivors include her husband, Sam George, Murchison; sons, Ricky Shaw, New Chapel Hill, James Lee Shaw, Flint, and Sam George III, Larue; daughters, Kathy Banda, Memphis, Tenn., and Jana Mitchell, Murchison; brother, James Dick, Chandler; sister, Viola Cleary, College Station; 10 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; nieces and nephew.
