Area Chamber banquet set for Feb. 8 Tickets are now available for the upcoming Chandler Brownsboro Area Chamber of Commerce Awards Banquet & Silent Auction to be held Thursday, February 8, at the Chandler Community Center. The annual event is the Chamber's highlight of the year recognizing and honoring area individuals, businesses and organizations that have gone above and beyond the call of duty. The evening will begin with a Silent Auction at 6:30pm. followed by dinner and the program at 7pm. Rev. Bobby Proctor of the Greater Life Church in Chandler will serve as Master of Ceremonies for the evening. Keynote speaker for the evening will be Rev. David Luckert, of the 1st United Methodist Church, Chandler. A chicken and beef fajita dinner with all the trimmings will be catered by San Pedro's Mexican Restaurant. Awards this year will be given for Area Citizen of the Year, Area Business of the Year, Area Asso- ciation/Organization of the Year, Area Volunteer Firefighter of the Year, and Area Policeman of the Year. Tickets are $14 and can be purchased at Chandler City Hall, Chandler Feed & Seed, Citizens National Bank in Chandler, San Pedro's Mexican Restaurant, Brownsboro Feed & Seed, 1st State Bank Brownsboro, and Splawn Sales in Murchison. The banquet is open to anyone who wishes to attend. Anyone who wishes to donate items to the silent auction can do so by dropping them off at Chandler City Hall. Businesses' or individual's names will be displayed by the item donated. Outgoing officers for the year 2006 are Chairman, Ron Reeves; Secretary, Cresha Foster; Treasurer, Daniel Keesey; and Advisor Dr. Sam Raborn. Officers and board members for 2007 are Chairman, Jeff Smiley; Vice Chairman, Dana Becton; Secretary, Roxie Holley; Treasurer, Glenda Bearden; and Advisor, Ron Reeves; Cresha Foster, Daniel Keesey, Jim Moffeit, Lance Splawn, Elton Caldwell, Jared Smith, Pete Ramos, Lloyd Robertson, Cheryl Way, and Joe Sellman. Any business or individual interested in becoming a CBACC member can pick up an application at Jeff Smiley's Farmer's Insurance office, located in downtown Brownsboro, on Highway 31 in the Teen Refuel Center building, or contact Smiley at 903-570-5687. |
