What's Happening A Pancake Breakfast will be served by the Murchison Volunteer Fire Department Sat., Feb. 3, 6am-10am at the fire department located in downtown Murchison, on FM 773, north just off State Hwy. 31. All donations are greatly appreciated. Bring your family and friends to help support your local First Responders. A Super Bowl of Singing will be held Sun., Feb., 4, 3pm- 4pm, at West Lake Baptist Church. There will be a fantastic blend of Southern Gospel and Blue Grass music from guests Mark Freid, A Chord of Three, and other area talent including Mack Smith, Rick Daily, and Ruth Smiley. Join us for a great time before the big game. Rock Hill Baptist Church will be showing a video of NFLTetstimonies by Shawn Alexander and Matt Hasselbeck, Sun., Feb. 4, at 6:30pm All are welcome. BMC Baseball will be accepting registration forms at the Little Dribblers games in the old intermediate gym Sat., Feb. 3, 10, and 17 from 9am - ? Forms will be available at the sign-up table. The Brownsboro Band Boosters will meet Mon., Feb. 5, at 6pm in the High School band hall. All Chandler Intermediate Parents are invited to the school's TAKS (Texas Assessment of Knowledge & Skills)/ SDAA (State Developed Alternative Assessment) Parent Night to be held Mon., Feb. 5, at 6pm in the school cafeteria. Teachers will provide parents with information regarding testing and how parents can help their children prepare. Parents will also be able to view what a TAKS test looks like. Marvin's Country & Gospel Band will perform at the Parkside Shores Club House every 1st & 3rd Monday, 6:30pm-8:30pm. Everyone is welcome. Admission is free. On Super Bowl Sunday, February 4, the First Baptist Church of Chandler will be holding a special "tail gate party" starting at 3:00 p.m., in the fellowship hall with hamburgers and hot dogs and all the trimmings!! Afterward, everyone will adjourn to the sanctuary to watch the Super Bowl on the overhead screen. (Snacks and soft drinks only in the sanctuary, please.) During the halftime, a short devotional will be presented. This event is open to everyone in the community. Come join us for a wonderful day of fun, fellowship and football. The Larue/Moore Station AARP Chapt. #5345 will meet Tues., Feb. 6, in the Antioch Baptist Church cafeteria, with the Board of Directors meeting at 6pm, followed by the regular meeting at 6:30pm. Cub Scout Pack 342 & Boy Scout Troop 342 will be collecting food in plastic bags on door steps across the community Sat., Feb. 10, beginning at 10am. The food collected will be turned over to God's Open Hands an outreach ministry that serves a large number of people every month. The Chandler Public Library will host a book signing and reception for author Jennifer Kennedy Dean Fri., Feb.16, 5pm- 6pm. Kennedy is an author and speaker who leads seminars for the Praying Life Foundation. Her books include Heart's Cry, Principles of Prayer and Fueled by Faith. Mrs. Kennedy will be conducting prayer seminars at the 1st United Methodist Church in Chandler on Friday and Saturday, and will be speaking at both Sunday Services.
