Terms & Tools of Oil & Gas "We're still measuring the success of the recent oil and gas seminar held January 13, 2007, on a nearby college's campus," reported E.D. "Dee" Hendrix, seminar producer and teacher. "I was absolutely delighted when six of our twenty-two students called me during the week following the seminar to report that they had already been engaged by area oil and gas brokers as Landmen, each beginning his assignments at a daily rate of at least $200.00 plus expenses. "One pupil said that her broker indicated that he would increase her earnings to $300.00 per day plus expenses within a ninety-day period." Hendrix said that the next conference would be held Saturday, March 10, 2007, with another slated for Friday, May 4, 2007, both scheduled at Tyler's Willow Brook Country Club. According to Hendrix, "Willow Brook Country Club is Old-Tyler elegance and an awesome location for our seminars. "Tuition is $295.00 for the oneday long, very-intense event with successful registration including reserved seminar seating, instruction, textbooks and hand-outs and a country club-style luncheon served in the glassed-in dining room separate from, but nearby, the conference hall. "This will be a `working lunch' of sorts with students able to interact and visit about what they've learned in the morning's session. " "Our teachers' objectives include producing `learners' and `not hearers only' as they help participants have fun while they learn," Hendrix explained. "Our teachers have combined experience in their fields of nearly 100 years," he added. "Also," Hendrix said, "Since we've already registered several students for the March 10th meeting, we're expecting a great turnout of this next outing."
