What a glorious day of worship we had Sunday. The choir, under the direction of Andy Tucker, continues to provide beautiful music as they lead the congregation in singing praises to the Lord, and Bro. David's special music is always an inspiration. After a challenging and evangelistic message, four people gave their lives to the Lord. We also welcome Wanda Livingston as a new member, and the many guests who worshipped with us.

A group of men and young boys, consisting of Bro. David Darst, Lee Godsey, Jay Hollifield, Bryan Hollifield, and Nelson Icenhower, provided some "bluegrass" music in our evening service. We are anxious to hear more from them.

On Friday night, February 16, a Valentine Banquet was hosted by the deacons of Faith Baptist Church. Our new pastor, Bro. David Darst, played the guitar and sang two songs, brought a brief message on love and the heart, and welcomed everybody, and then we enjoyed a wonderful meal.

After the meal, three couples who had been married the longest were called on stage to play the "senior" version of The Newlywed Game to see which couple could match the most answers to Bro. David's questions. Those married the longest were Roy and Dorothy Stewart (married 59 years), Joe and Mary Waddill (married 55 years) and Jack and Maxine Barnes (married 52 years). All participants were declared winners, and Roy and Dorothy were presented a gift basket, Joe and Mary, and Jack and Maxine were presented with flower arrangements. A good time was had by all.

We appreciate all those who showed up for the church work day Saturday to help with needed repairs and cleanup.

The Youth will host a "Baked Potato Lunch" next Sunday, February 25. Donations made will be used to help with camp expenses and other youth activities. Everyone come out and enjoy a delicious lunch and support our youth.

The church is seeking a part-time secretary to work four hours a day, Monday through Friday. Anyone interested may send a resume outlining education, experience, and qualifications to the attention of the Personnel Committee, Faith Baptist Church, P.O. Box 1384, Chandler, TX 75758.
