Monday, February 19th, we recognized the national Presidents Day. History has shown that as a nation we have been truly blessed in having leaders that no matter their political party had Christ as their guide.

A new Church mission is in process of development!! Vicki Bradbeer will be starting a "Mom's Group" for mothers of children from newborns to 5 years of age. They will meet in the Church parlor from 9:30 till 11:30am every 1st and 3rd Monday, starting March 5th. Child care will be provided. For additional information contact Vicki at bvbradbeer@earthlink.net or call her at 903-849-4667. Those who would like to volunteer to assist with child care during this time should contact the Church office. This would be a great opportunity for grandmothers whose grandkids may have outgrown them to stay in practice for those great-grandkids.

The Church Pictorial Directories are ready. You may pick up your copy at the Church Office or in Fellowship Hall next Sunday.

The Golden Pairs Mardi Gras Party was held last Monday. This is the annual celebration of Church members married 50 years or more! Winston and Juanita Reagan still hold the record at 71 years with Bill and Nina Copeland coming in second with 64 years. A total of twenty-six couples were recognized in a luncheon served by the Hostess Committee.

God is love, and he that dwells in love dwells in God, and God in Him.

Ash Wednesday Service will be at 7p.m., February 21st. On Ash Wednesday we come to church to pray, and to ask God's forgiveness. The black ashes placed on our foreheads in the form of a cross as the words are spoken over us. "Dust thou art, and to dust thou wilt return," become a reminder of our death and the promise of life everlasting. Ash Wednesday represents the beginning of the forty days till Easter and the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior. While it represents a great time of sorrow, there is a real comfort and joy experienced in this simple ceremony. So please come and join your fellow believers.

Next Sunday, February 25th following the 11 a.m. services a Soup and Chili Luncheon will be served in Fellowship Hall by the Hostess Committee. Donations will be accepted for purchase of rolling serving tables.

Happy Anniversary to Tom and Shirley Ann Bradbeer, Frank and Gayle Haynes, Bobby and Patti Long and Dan and Dolores Mourgos. The greatest happiness of life is the conviction that we are loved, loved for ourselves, or rather loved in spite of ourselves.

Happy Birthday to Danny Crossley, Linda Keeling, Billy O'Steen, Haley Crist, Glyn Stewart, Preston Reid, Lindsey Stewart, Jerry Pope and Jill McGill. The gladness of the heart is the life of man, and the joyfulness of man prolongs his days.

Thought for the Week: I pray that you will begin to understand how incredibly great His power is to help those who believe Him. It is that same mighty power that raised Christ from the dead and seated him in the place of honor at God's right hand in Heaven. Far, far above any other king or ruler or dictator or leader. Yes, his honor is far more glorious that that world to come and God has put all things under his feet and made him the supreme Head of the Church, which is his body, filled with himself, the Author and Governor of everything everywhere. - Ephesians 1:18-21
