TAKS testing underway

BOWL OVER THE TAKS!!! -- Brownsboro Elementary third grade students were treated to a TAKS pep rally Monday afternoon in preparation of their TAKS reading test Tuesday. BES Principal Brian Ralson, also known as "King Pin," encouraged the students to "bowl over the TAKS" by concentrating hard and doing their best. The BHS cheerleaders were on hand to pump up the students, and the second grade "drum line" involved the entire student body in a rhythmic chant "Beat the TAKS." Pictured: King Pin chose several third graders to help him demonstrate the importance of studying. Jordan Griffin concentrates and does her best at bowling down the pins while Jerica Smiley waits her turn. When King Pin's turn came up, he showed what happens when students don't study by missing the pins all together.
