Sub-Varsity Basketball Wrapping up the 2006-07 basketball season in Brownsboro last Tuesday night the Junior Varsity Bears hosted the Chapel Hill Bulldogs. Brownsboro dominated the first half taking a 27-16 lead into halftime. In the third period Chapel Hill came rallying back outscoring the Bears 17-6 to tie the game at 33 entering the final period of play. In the fourth period the teams battled back and forth with Chapel Hill gaining the slight edge to pull out a win. The Bulldogs outscored the Bears 16-14 in the final period to win 49-47. Overall Brownsboro shot 6 for 14 at the free throw line. Jerqualyn Dora led the Bears in scoring with 14 points. Broox Nichelson scored 12 points and nailed 2 three pointers in the game. Daniel Myer also had a three.
The Bears finished 15-12 on the season and 2-8 in district play. In dominate fashion the Freshman Bears concluded a stellar 2006-07 basketball season with a 60-30 win over the visiting Chapel Hill Bulldogs last Tuesday night. Things began slow as each team scored 7 points in the first period. In the second period everything went right for the Bears as they blew past the Bulldogs scoring 22 points while holding Chapel Hill to 7 period points. Returning from the half leading 29-14 the Bears continued to play well scoring in double figures each of the final 2 periods. Chapel Hill was held to 5 fourth period points. Leading the Bears in scoring was Jacob McCarthy and Cameron Warren each with 11 points. McCarthy nailed two 3-point shots. James Cofer and Brett Tidwell also each had a three pointer for Brownsboro.
Brownsboro finished the season with a record of 24-3 and 8-2 in district play. |
