BHS vocational technical facility construction on schedule

PUTTING DOWN THE SLAB -- On Tuesday, concrete workers employed the use of a concrete pump to reach across the spacious slab of the new Brownsboro High School vocational technical facility.
Construction of the Brownsboro High School vocational technical facility is right on schedule according to WRL Construction Manager John Morris.

The new 20,067 sq. ft. building will house the Agriculture and Industrial/ Business Technology classes that are currently held in cramped quarters due to an increase in enrollment over the last 10 years.

Footings are complete and laborers are currently laying the slab on grade in preparation for the actual structure.

"The metal building is three to four weeks out from getting delivered and it will be another three weeks putting it up," Morris said.

Once the building is up, masons and dry wallers will begin the process of erecting the walls.

"Once we get the walls up it will go pretty fast," Morris said.

Renovations of the current Agriculture and Industrial Technology shops and classrooms will begin once school dismisses for the summer.

The plan is to complete the new building and renovations before the school re-opens in the fall, Morris said.
