Benjamin Harden Tew

Graveside services for Mr. Benjamin Harden Tew, 86, Brownsboro, were held at 12:00 noon Tuesday, February 27, 2007, with William Compton officiating. Burial followed at Jennings Mountain Cemetery, Brownsboro, under the direction of Chandler Memorial Funeral Home, Chandler.

Mr. Tew died February 23, 2007 in Tyler, Texas. He was born Sept. 14, 1921 in Durham, North Carolina.

He had lived in the Brownsboro area for 35 years and was a member of First Assembly of God Church in Brownsboro. He was an electronic bio-med technician, was a member of the Masonic Lodge in Brownsboro, the Elk's Lodge in Garland, and was a ham radio operator. He served in the United States Army during World War II.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Alonzo and Novella Tew; and two sisters, Mae Edmonds and Inez Silcott.

Survivors are his wife, Patsy Tew, Brownsboro; son, Greg Tew, Brownsboro; daughter, Jan Hitt and husband Darell of Garland, Texas; 2 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren.
