Ben Wheeler Community Crafters meet

The kick-off meeting for the Ben Wheeler Community Crafters was held on Thursday, March 1 at the Ben Wheeler Methodist Church. Crafters enjoyed a wonderful presentation by Cendy Tarno, owner of K&C Scrapbook, Canton, Texas. Crafters from Colfax, Brownsboro, Canton, Ben Wheeler and Edom were in attendance.

Project hostesses Lisa Brown, Bobbie Hill, Terri Bevans and Nancy Hrobar presented trunk shows. Everyone got inspired and motivated to create and finish projects! Participants shared a fabulous array of great ideas and beautiful crafting projects. Queta Tompkins, Ben Wheeler showed off her gorgeous crocheted afghans.

The next meeting, General Crafting, is slated for Thursday, March 8 at 10am at the Ben Wheeler Methodist Church. The planned project is to make a picture that looks like pieces of ceramic tile, set and grouted, framed to hang on the wall. It is not tile, but the technique makes any picture look like tile. For more information on this project, contact Terri Bevans at 903- 852-7666. She can tell you the supplies that are needed and the cost of the project. This is absolutely beautiful and really worth learning!

Lisa Brown will host third Thursday Scrapbooking, Genealogy, Photography Day, March 15 at 10am. Call her at 903-833-5062 for project details.

As with any other crafter day, you don't have to participate in the planned project. Come and learn the technique. Do it later. Bring something to work on, a UFP, a recipe to share, and a sack lunch. Join the fun and fellowship. Open to the public.

A special thanks goes out to Elizabeth Kolaczowski, Brownsboro, for her donation of lots of crochet and knitting yarns. These will be used by crafters for charity projects.

Get motivated! Fellowship with other crafters! Share ideas! Finish all those unfinished projects (UFPs) Be productive! Learn something new! Enjoy good food! Share recipes! Make new friends! Get out of the house! Mainly, have lots and lots of fun!
