Bears rally to crush Grace Community 19-5

Chad Wilson Photo STARTING NOD-- Clayton Boyd performed well as the Bears' starting pitcher in their home opener last Tuesday evening against Grace Community School.
Trailing 1-0 after one inning of play the Bears rallied in the second inning for 7 runs enroute to a 19-5 win over Grace Community in last Tuesday night's home opener in Brownsboro.

Clayton Boyd got the start for the Bears and allowed 4 runs and struck out 7 batters in three innings of work. Keaton Parsell finished the game striking out three batters and allowing one run in two innings of play.

Brownsboro totaled 11 hits in the blow out victory with the biggest hit belonging to Junior Keaton Parsell. Parsell slammed a 3-run homerun in the third inning after Ryan Smith and Ryan Epperson each drew a walk. It was Parsell's first homerun of the season.

Parsell also led the team in RBI's for the game with 5, stole a base, singled and scored two runs. Epperson, Smith and Brad McDonald each stole a base in the game. Every Bear reached base at least once in the contest.
