AC Cooey

While AC Cooey was in El Dorado Springs, MO on February 28, 2007, the Lord called him to come home. AC had lived on this earth for 63 years, 6 months and 3 days.

AC was born to Albert and Myrtis (Simmons) Cooey on August 25, 1943 in Leagueville, Texas. He was a 1961 graduate of Brownsboro High School.

On October 30, 1962, AC married the love of his life, Jewel (Pinckard) Cooey also of Brownsboro, Texas. During their 44 years of marriage, they raised three children, worked together to help raise seven grandchildren and were looking forward to helping with their great-grandchildren.

AC lived most of his life in the Brownsboro/Chandler area. He had moved to Jerico Springs, MO in 1996. While there, AC joined the local Masonic lodge and was very active, but he still found time for several afternoons of fishing a week.

AC is preceded in death by his parents, Albert and Myrtis Cooey, his brother, Delwin Cooey and son-in-law, Eliodoro Acuna.

AC is survived by his wife, Jewel Cooey of Jerico Springs, MO; daughter, Shirley and her husband Rudy Vause of Chandler; daughter Regina and her husband David Sanderson of Jerico Springs, MO; son, James Cooey of Jerico Springs; sister Peggy and her husband Don Tedford of Lewisville, AR; grandchildren, Stefani and Justin Vause of Chandler, Carmen Acuna and Brandon Scott, Erica and her husband Tim Bybee, Daniel and his wife Jennifer Sanderson, Rick and his wife Bridget Sanderson, all of El Dorado Springs, MO, Stephanie and her husband Tony Wiesner of Seattle, WA, Cecil, Mason and Delwin Cooey of Athens, Texas; great-grandchildren Darion, Justin and David Sanderson, Madison Scott, Emily, Brooke and Blake Bybee, all of El Dorado Springs; aunts, Frances Cooey, Brownsboro, Ethel Huckabee and Peggy Simmons, both of Tyler, Texas, and Lela Goodgame of Garland, Texas; great-aunt Laura Mae Lackey of Brownsboro; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Services were held in El Dorado Springs, MO on Sunday, March 4, 2007 and the interment was in Brasher Cemetery in Jerico Springs, MO.
