It was a rough morning in Lindale last week as the Bearettes opened up play in the Longhorn Ford/Lone Star Dodge Lindale Softball Invitational.
Brownsboro's first opponent in pool play was the Tarkington Lady Horns.
Tarkington got off to an early lead thanks to several Bearette mishaps. The Lady Horns scored 2 runs in the first inning without recording a hit. Both Lady Horn runs were unearned.
Offensivly the Bearettes had a hard time finding holes in the Horn defense. The Bearettes first hit of the game came in the fourth inning as Randi Smith singled to left field.
Smith's hit would be the only hit of the game for the Bearettes. Morgan McGill reached base twice on walks and also stole a base.
Tarkington rolled to a 9-0 win in 5 innings of play recording just seven hits. Brownsboro's Krystin Groothuis struck out four Lady Horns.
An hour after losing to Tarkington the Bearettes defeated Eustace. Later in the evening the Bearettes lost to Spring Hill in the final pool play game.
