      Four area FFA students will be among eight Henderson County FFA students who will compete in the 2007 Henderson County Livestock Show Calf Scramble Show to be held Friday, March 30, at 6:00 p.m, at the Henderson County Fair Complex on Highway 31 east of Athens.

CIS students advance to regional science fair competition
      The annual Chandler Intermediate School Science Fair competition was held on January 30. Students, 4th through 6th grade, entered projects that were experimental in nature. Most students started their experimental testing four to six months in advance.

Smiley named to Texas A&M distinguished students list
      Texas A&M University has named its honor students for the fall 2006 semester, recognizing them for outstanding academic performance. The "Distinguished Student " is a recognition of students who earned a 3.5 to 3.74 GPR while taking at least 15 hours for the fall semester.
