JV Bears head into District Tournament

Through 12 games this season the Junior Varsity Bears have amassed a record of 7-5.
Opening the season the Bears scored 8 runs in a win over Palestine as Cameron Warren led the team with four RBIs.
In their second game of the season the Bears defeated Grace Community by the score of 9-8. Jacob Shelton picked up the win giving up just one earned run while striking out six batters. Warren was 2-2 with 2 RBIs and 3 runs scored. Will Jones also had 2 RBIs, Bret Tidwell was 2-3 and 3 RBIs.
In double header action the Bears faced off against Grace again, this time falling 13-7. Tidwell tripled twice and picked up 2 RBIs. Jacob McCarthy was 2-2 with a double and 2 RBIs.
Brownsboro traveled to Van on March 5 and split a double header with the Vandals. The Bears won the first game 14- 2 before falling 5-2 in the second game.
Game one, Bret Tidwell was 3-3 scoring 2 runs and Bret Ralson was 2-3 with a double. Game two Warren and Cody Smith scored the Bears runs.
The Bears finished third in the Crandall Tournament March 8-10. Brownsboro won the first game 18-4 over Quinlan Ford, lost the second 8-3 against Crandall and won the final game 14-5 over Rains.
Against Quinlan Ford, Jacob McCarthy picked up the win on the mound and also had a triple. Bret Ralson scored 2 runs and was 3-4. Will Jones was 2-2 with 2 doubles and a walk.
In the loss to Crandall McCarthy was 3-3 and scored a run. During the final game of the tournament against Rains, Bret Tidwell picked up the win in four innings while recording 8 strike outs. Tidwell was 3-3 at the plate with all three hits being doubles.
McCarthy, Ralson, Warren, Ryan Cawthon, Austin Adair and Nelson Icenhower each had at least two hits in the win.
Playing on St. Patrick's Day the Bears edged John Tyler 4- 1. Jacob Shelton picked up the win, fanning 7 Lions, including the final 2 batters of the game. Shelton, Ralson, Adair and Tyler Rogers each scored a run for Brownsboro.
Monday the JV lost to Canton 9-8 in seven innings.
The JV will compete in a District tournament this Thursday and Saturday. On Thursday all the games will be played in Canton with starts of 3:00pm and 5:00pm. Brownsboro will then play in Brownsboro on Saturday at a time to be announced later depending on how they fare on Thursday.
