Brownsboro First UMC This was our first Easter Sunrise service on Jennings Mountain and it was a great service. Bro. Danny from Union Hill brought a wonderful message. At the close of the service as we were leav- ing, a white Pigeon came floating down and landed on a car. I had to look twice because I thought it was a dove. Talk about an appropriate ending! Our children of all ages enjoyed a big Easter egg hunt during the latter part of Sunday School. The sanctuary was dressed to perfection by Ms. Wanda. The service was inspiring with Bobby Teague's rendition of "The King is Coming," and then Bro. Elliott's message. We had many visitors and hope they return to visit again. It was good to have Mr. Vernon in our midst again. We continue to pray for Ms. Betty and hope to see her in our midst soon. However, we enjoyed her replacements (her two daughters and family). I would like to thank everyone for the kindness shown during the illness and passing of my mom, Mae Simmons. She went home to be with the Lord on April 1st and we took her to Gulfport, Miss. to be buried next to Dad. The prayers, calls, food, cards and beautiful flowers have helped to ease the loss. We know she is with Jesus, and for the first time in five years she can walk, talk and knows who she is, and for that our family is grateful. Our ladies Wednesday night Bible study starts next Wednesday at 6:30. We will be using a Mary's Spirit. Please feel free to join us. Fifth Sunday Singing will be at our church on the 29th. |
