Clifton "Cliff" Vest

Services for Mr. Clifton "Cliff" Vest, 90, Lott, Texas, formerly of Lindale, Texas, were held Saturday, April 7, 2007 at 2:00 p.m. at Chandler Memorial Funeral Home chapel, Chandler, Texas, with Rev. Ray Schuler officiating.

Burial was in Memorial Park Cemetery of Tyler, Texas, under the direction of Chandler Memorial Funeral Home.

Mr. Vest died April 4, 2007 in a Marlin, Texas nursing home. He was born February 6, 1917 in Hartselle, Alabama.

He lived in Lindale from 1961 to 1998, was a member of Bible Baptist Church in Lindale, and was a retired ranch manager. He was "one of the last true cowboys."

Preceding him in death were his wife, Lois Vest and his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Charlie Vest.

Survivors include a son, Larry Vest of Lott, Texas; daughter, Wanda Faye Campbell of Lindale; several nieces and nephews; 3 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers were Chad Hogg, Randy Bender, Ted Kurpota, Justin Childre, Gerald Layton and Mark Caskey.
