Ben Wheeler Community Crafters News

On Thursday, March 29, Crafters enjoyed a covered dish luncheon; Beginning Cake Decoration presented by Sherry Royce of Sweet Occasions by Sherry; and Food Storage/Preparedness Discussion by Terri Bevans. Most everyone worked on knitting and crocheting projects.

On Friday, March 30, some members went to Tyler, lunched at Applebee's, toured the Azalea Trail and attended the Quilt Show at Harvey Hall.

April plans have been made, but as with any other crafter day, you don't have to participate in the planned project. Come and learn the technique. Do it later. Bring something to work on, a UFP, a recipe to share, and a sack lunch or covered dish. Join the fun and fellowship!

Third Thursday, April 19: Scrapbooking, Genealogy, Photography hosted by Lisa Brown, 903-833-5062. Plans for creating our own Crafters scrapbook will begin and organizing our library will get underway. Bring a sack lunch and something to work on.

Fourth Thursday, April 26: Knitting, Crocheting and other handwork hosted by Bobbie Hill, 903-833-2139 and Queta Tompkins, 903- 833-5897. Plans to knit and crochet squares for totes for the Rainbow Room will begin. Members plan to use donated yarn for this project. Videos and books for learning to knit and crochet along with expert instruction by members are always available. Bring a covered dish and something to work on.

Crafters plan to attend the Quilt Show and Blue Bird Festival in Wills Point on Friday, April 13. Anyone wanting to participate can call Nancy at 903-833-5329 for details.

We thank the members of the Ben Wheeler Methodist Church for giving us a place to meet. You are a blessing to us. All crafting events take place on Thursdays at the church located on FM 858 in downtown Ben Wheeler next to the Fire Station.

Get motivated! Fellowship with other crafters. Share ideas and good food! Finish all those unfinished projects (UFPs)! Be productive! Get out of the house! We're growing every week and having lots of fun! Open to the public.
