Modell Walker Herrington

Services for Mrs. Modell Walker Herrington, 87, Brownsboro, were held Friday, April 13, 2007 at 10:00 a.m. at Chandler Memorial Funeral Home Chapel. Bro. Terry Don Adair officiated.

Burial followed at Red Hill Cemetery under the direction of Chandler Memorial Funeral Home.

Mrs. Herrington died April 11, 2007 in South Place Nursing Home in Athens. She was born March 9, 1920 in Lueders, Texas.

She was a member of Rock Hill Baptist Church and formerly attended Opelika Missionary Baptist Church. She was a homemaker. and was a wonderful wife and mother. The family sends very special thanks to the doctors, nurses and aides of South Place Nursing Center and Genesis Hospice.

Preceding her in death were J.T. "Buster" Walker (the father of her children), and husband J.D. Herrington, and a son, Bobby Walker.

Survivors include son, Travis Walker, Tyler; stepson, Newman Herrington, Brownsboro; daughters, Marie Splawn, Athens, Vaudean Alvey, Tyler, Brenda Tullos, Brownsboro; stepdaughters, Fayrene Chambers, Alice Beason, and Barbara Bailey, all of Brownsboro; sister, Marie Lote, Tyler; 12 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren, and 3 great-great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers were Steve Splawn, Gary Splawn, Glen Splawn, Terry Alvey, Jeff Tullos, Brody Hickman.
