Services for Mrs. Melissa Jean Laedtke, 47, of Athens, Texas, were held Friday, April 13, 2007 at 3:00 p.m. at Dresden Cemetery near Blooming Grove, Texas, with Rev. W.M. Compton officiating.

Burial was in Dresden Cemetery under the direction of Chandler Memorial Funeral Home, Chandler, Texas.

Mrs. Laedtke died April 10, 2007 in a Tyler hospital. She was born August 26, 1959 in Dallas, Texas.

She was a member of Hope Community Church of Murchison, Texas, and was a cosmetologist.

She was preceded in death by parents, Jimmy L. Freeman and Bobbie Fields Freeman; aunt, Dorothy McNew; and son, James B. Buckholtz.

Survivors include her husband, Ernest Laedtke; daughter, Bobbie Smith of Ben Wheeler, Texas; brothers, Bruce Pledger and Steve Freeman, both of Gun Barrell City, Texas, Jimmy M. Freeman of Arlington, Texas, Terry F. Dale Freeman and Richard K, Freeman, both of Dallas; and 3 grandchildren.
