District 14-3A Track Meet
Several Brownsboro athletes advance to Regional Competition

Chad Wilson Photo BACK TO COMMERCE-- Brownsboro's Ricco Richards will make a return trip to regionals in the 200m after finishing second at the district meet.

The District 14-3A Track meet was held last Wednesday and Thursday in Brownsboro and several Bears and Bearettes will be headed to regional competition on April 27-28 in Commerce, Texas.

To advance to regional competition an athlete had to finish in the top three of their event. Brownsboro will be represented in eight events at the regional meet.

Naomi Scott claimed first place in the 800m Run with a time of 2:26.10 edging Courtney Smith of Canton. Scott trailed most of the run before overtaking Smith in the final 200m of the race.

Scott will also advance to regionals in the 400m run as she captured first with a time of 1:03.08. Karla Robles will also advance to regionals in the 400m run as she finished second in the event with a time of 1:04.65.

Also advancing to regionals for the Bearettes are the 1600m relay team, 400m relay team and LeCandace Bell in the 100m run.

Bell earned second place in the 100m with a time of 13:30 just :30 behind Lamisa Winston of Chapel Hill who earned first place.

Abigail Hernandez will also advance to regionals after claiming first place in the 3200m run with a time of 13:25.

For the Bears Ricco Richard will advance to regionals earning second place in the 200m Dash with a time of 22:64. The Bears will also be represented at regionals by the 800m Relay team.

The Brownsboro Junior Varsity Bears earned third place at the District Meet with a total of 104.5 points earned. Joe Denney and Grant Flynn shined for the Bears.
