"I Learned My Lesson"
Driving down the highway heading for home,
From the back seat I heard a scream and a shout.
I pulled over to the side of the road
To find what it was all about.
The car door slammed and I could see
My grandson racing past a tree.
I got out of the car and hurried after him,
Worried that he might sickly be.
That's when I saw a garage sale sign.
Oh! How I dread those things.
He passed me by, heading for the car
With a box full of toys and other things.
He shouted and said, "I told them you would pay;
It's only $20.00 for the lot.
When we get home I'll show you
All the great things I got.
How could I say "take them back,"
And see the dirty looks I'd get.
I paid the bill and told him
"What you did made Grandpa sweat."
I learned my lesson and now
Garage sales I go quickly past.
I learned my lesson on that day.
Yes, I learned it...I learned it fast. byThomasHoward "You'llBeThere"
Fall down
It's in my heart now.
I feel the way You're pulling me.
It's sweet relief and I'm feeling free.
You cut me open and cleaned me out,
I'm broken but content somehow.
There's this peace pouring into my heart,
I couldn't have imagined a better place to start.
This hope gives me joy, I'm finally fine.
After all I've been through, I found life.
I never should have looked anywhere else.
After becoming so numb, I have finally felt.
I am shocked and I'm breathing,
After holding my breath.
I'm broken and healing,
After learning to step.
Love and life no longer make me scared,
Because I know that through it all,
You'll be there. byKaraRainwater
